The Domex range of hardenable steels comprises plain carbon and alloyed carbon steels together with a range of Boron alloyed qualities. Carbon steels are available to BS 1449 : Section 1.15 and Boron grades are manufactured to BS EN 10083-3. Following discussion bespoke grades can be produced to individual customer requirements.
With carbon contents up to 0.20% and low aluminium content, a range of case hardening steels is also available.
Plain carbon steels are available with carbon contents from 0.20% to 1.00%. Hardenable steels are available with thicknesses between 2.00mm and 10.00mm and a maximum width of 1600mm, grade dependant.
Material is supplied with "as rolled" properties and hardness/strength is developed by conventional heat treatment.
Typical applications include agricultural parts, washers, knives and gear wheels.
As these steels are supplied with "as rolled properties", all normal fabrication methods can be used without difficulty.
Welding may be carried out using all standard methods. Further information is available on request.
